Investigating human trafficking cases without gender-sensitive approaches has an impact on the outcome of prosecutions and the protection of victims. Factors like age, disability, unemployment, ethnicity, and belonging to a minority group might trigger marginalization, poverty, and social exclusion resulting in more victims being exploited. The panelist will discuss the importance of gender-sensitive prevention strategies integrated with multi-disciplinary teamwork to protect and assist survivors. This webinar will highlight the importance of preparing a treatment plan by collaborating with community-based programs that provide services to victims of trafficking as well as other allied professionals who have conducted similar investigations to avoid re-victimization and lack of trust.
